The Queensway is a traditional style pub attracting a good range of regular trade and passers by of a very mixed age group. Inside it is open plan with Sports facilities to one side and a designated restaurant area with 250 covers to the other. There is an extensive main menu to choose from and the bar has an impressive selection of drinks on offer. Outside there is a beer garden and play area for the children to keep them amused whilst the adults enjoy a bit of peace. Live acts are held monthly with something different each time. They can be five piece bands, solo or duo acts with the good ones being invited back. Call in next time you are in the area and sample a meal and drink with friends and take in a class act. You will be given a warm welcome!
The Queensway venue is located on the roundabout linking Ashby Road and The Queensway and only a short trip into the town centre.
Scunthorpe Nightlife
Scunthorpe is located in North Lincolnshire and compared to its vibrant neighbouring towns, it has a rather tame nightlife. The emphasis here is on more traditional and old-style pubs and inns. Nevertheless it does have a some major nightclubs including Time and The Light.
These play a selection of dance, commercial dance, disco, soul, rhythm and blues. Alternatively you could try one of the many bars in town. However if a serious clubbing session is what you are after then it might well be worth the journey to towns close by.
The Town of Scunthorpe
Scunthorpe is a small industrial garden town in North Lincolnshire, England. It is situated to the East of the river Trent and about 35 miles north of Lincoln. Kirmington, the local airport is within easy reach. The local football team, nicknamed the “Iron”, play in the third division and their home ground is called Glanford Park. Lincolnshire is perhaps one of England’s most enigmatic counties, rich in ancient history and atmosphere, and offering the opportunity to explore some of the country’s less well-known historic houses, castles and ancient monuments. Visit Scunthorpe and you’ll be sure of a varied and entertaining stay! |
