Pole Dancing Courses

Courses are run for small groups of people looking for a more intimate class with their friends or colleagues with more one to one contact from the instructor.

Each Pole Play course runs for 4 consecutive weeks and aims at increasing self confidence through movement, spins, tricks and inversions. By the end of the course it is hoped that students will have a much improved body image, increased confidence and have mastered enough moves to enable them to hold a Stage 1 certificate in pole dancing.

Courses are run once we have a group of 5 or 6 students so they are well suited to groups of friends although we do hold a waiting list for individuals so that we can begin a course as soon as we have enough students. The individual classes last for 2 hours each week.

Once students have completed the beginners course they may wish to move on to the intermediate course where they can learn more about transitions, floor moves, presentation and performance as well as more complicated tricks, spins and inversions and work towards a Stage 2 certificate in pole dancing.

At the end of every course students are given the opportunity and encouraged to record a routine onto DVD to take home with them. This is especially good if they wish to continue the dancing as they can see how much they have improved with practice.

Pole Play courses must be paid for in full and in advance. No refunds are given for cancellation less than 1 week before the start date under any cicumstances. The minimum age for courses is 16 and those under 18 must complete a consent form from a parent or guardian to participate.

Course Structure

Week 1
During the first class you will be welcomed by the instructor and introduced to the venue and any safety precautions. She will then conduct a warm up before demonstrating a pole show for you consisting only of the tricks that you may learn during this level of the course. Afterwards you will get the chance to learn a few of these tricks and practice before a brief cool down at the end.

Week 2
In the second class the instructor will re-cap all of the moves you learnt during the previous week and give some additional tips for perfecting these moves. She will then take you through a few more advanced moves and give you some practice time before the cool down.

Week 3
The third class is designed to help with linking and floor moves which will enable you to take a breath during a dance and move smoothly from one move to the next to create a polished performance. During this class you will begin work on your final routine.

Week 4
During the final class you will be given time to practice your routine and ask for help with any moves you are having problems with. The final hour is spent performing your routine to a track of your choice followed lastly by the cool down and presentation of certificates.
