Pole Divas 2006

 

Heat 1: Friday 6th October, 8pm

Heat 2: Saturday 7th October, 8pm

Grand Final: Saturday 14th October, 8pm

 

Northern England’s first large pole dancing competition run in conjunction with The Queensway, a member of the Greene King pub company. Focusing on flexibility, strength, technique, and personality along with other qualities the Pole Divas competition is a measure of pole dancing ability at different levels of practice. Participants are required to perform routines to 2 different music tracks during the competition; they may perform the same routines in both the heats and the final if they wish.

 

This year’s competition is being held at The Queensway in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. For directions please see the link below and for more information on the venue please contact us. We are also able to provide advice on transport and accommodation in the local area. Trains from Bristol take around 4 hours to reach Scunthorpe, from London they take around 2½ hours, from Liverpool around 3 hours and from Newcastle around 2 hours.

 

With support from If this years competition is a success we hope to run it as an annual event, relocating it to different towns and cities in the north of England. Please give us your support for the first year!

 

Entry Levels

 

Beginner Level – Complete beginners with no pole dancing experience through regular classes, club work or any other form of professional pole dance. No pole dancing students or professionals including instructors.

Student Level – Pole school students and those with pole dancing experience around intermediate level. No professionals including instructors and exotic dancers.

Professional Level – Professionals including; podium pole dancers, exotic dancers, instructors and any other profession deemed to result in a much higher ability at pole dance

 

Judging Criteria

 

Routine – entire performance

Tricks – pole tricks and floor moves performed

Technical Ability – difficulty and control of tricks performed

Flow – movement from one trick to another including transition moves

Personality – the manner, enthusiasm and general character of the participant

Presence – how they engage the audience and judges

Variety – range of tricks, transition and floor moves performed

Originality – level of individuality compared to other participants

Timing – ability to keep in time with the chosen music tracks

Costume (Professional and Student levels only) – look and suitability of the outfit

1st: £40 Cash. Winners Sash, Titanium X-Pole, Outfit from Pole Perfection, 2 x Vault Vouchers

Runner Up: £20 Cash, X-Pole Goody Bag, Greene King Voucher

 

Student Level

1st: £20 Cash, Winners Sash, Chrome X-Pole, Pole Fitness Class, Online Dancing Lesson, 2 x Vault Vouchers

Runner Up: Pole Fitness Class, Greene King Voucher

 

Beginner Level

1st: Winners Sash, Pole Fitness Class, 2 x Vault Entry Vouchers

Runner Up: Pole Fitness Class, Greene King Voucher
